Queerly Dancing

September 6 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

A movement class to tune into our physical selves and get the body moving.

Dance classes can feel intimidating and non inclusive, specifically when it comes to gender-creative bodies; this space is a chance to practice reframing this narrative, and reclaiming the power of dance for all bodies, especially our beautifully unruly ones!

With an approach based on queering movement (letting go of societal structures and expectations that are placed on our bodies), there will be no right or wrong, no image to replicate and no aesthetic to be compared to… just a chance to play, explore movement patterns and mobilise our body, while bringing all of ourselves into the space.

The class will include a combination of guided improvised movement tasks and short dance sequences, as a frame to explore our bodies through movement.

This class is open to all levels and all bodies. Adaptations can be made throughout, and no previous experience of dance or movement is needed. If you have any worries or would like to ask questions ahead of the class, feel free to contact Zanni. If you have any injuries we need to know about, please make this clear when you register.

Please note these classes are for all abilities, adaptions are made and beginners are welcome. This class may include loud music or flashing/bright lighting equipment.
