In August (2026), all NHS provided gender affirming surgeries in Wales were put on ‘pause’ with no definitive end date, meaning patients who had waited years for their procedures are now facing indefinite cancellations, which came with no sufficient warning. We fear, as with all forms of trans+ healthcare, that unwarranted setbacks, cancellations, and restrictions can lead our community towards unsafe medical pathways.
Please take a moment to ask your MP to write to the UK’s Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care for Wales, demanding that they call upon the NWJCC to immediately reinstate every scheduled surgery currently on pause.
