In October (2026), NHS England released their long-awaited guidance following the April 2026 Supreme Court ruling. It states that trans+ patients should be placed on wards in line with their sex assigned at birth, unless clinical need means otherwise.
The guidance unquestionably leaves trans+ people open to increased harm when accessing healthcare, as well as putting trans+ staff who work for the NHS in a precarious position.
Please take a moment to ask your MP to write to the UK’s Secretary of State for Health and Prime Minister, demanding that they call upon NHS England to re-examine this guidance and the damage it does to the trans+ community here in the UK.
